Columbus, OH. police will do a 28-day review of its vice unit, following two recent high profile cases that have citizens questioning police practices.
Chief Kim Jacobs said vice operations will be halted during this time.
The arrest of porn star Stormy Daniels in a Columbus strip club and the fatal shooting of a woman by Officer Andrew Mitchell during a prostitution sting expedited this review.
“The review is being done to ensure that all policies and procedures are sound and in accordance with the mission and vision of the division,” said Deputy Chief Tim Becker.
Police also said they don’t tolerate bad cops and they need to regain the trust of the community.
